Delhi Public School, Kolar Road organized an educational excursion for the students of Grade 1 to Reliance SMART Bazaar as part of the theme “Food.” During the visit, the young learners observed and identified different categories of food items such as fruits, vegetables, grains, pulses, dairy products, and packaged food. They also learned about the importance of making healthy food choices and including variety in their daily diet. Students were introduced to reading the nutritional information printed on food products. They observed labels displaying ingredients, manufacturing date, expiry date, price, and quantity. The use of barcodes was also explained to them, helping them understand how products are identified and billed at the store. The visit was a joyful, practical, and enriching learning experience. Design Thinking in Action: Empathy Mapping Activity Students of Grade 11 enthusiastically participated in a Design Thinking – Empathy Mapping activity as part of the CBSE Artificial Intelligence curriculum. The session introduced learners to the importance of understanding problems from the user's perspective before designing solutions. Working collaboratively, students identified real-life challenges such as water conservation, waste management, road safety, excessive screen time, and healthy lifestyles. Using the Empathy Map, they analysed what users say, think, do, and feel, enabling them to develop a deeper understanding of human needs. The activity strengthened critical thinking, observation, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while fostering empathy and responsible innovation.
