Annual Function - 2023

The air of exuberance and festivity overwhelmed the premises of Delhi Public School, Kolar Road Bhopal in its decadal year with the celebration of its sixth Annual Function, ‘AAROHAN’, The Spirit of Elevation and Progression, on Friday, 15th December 2023. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr Manoj Shrivstava, Additional Chief Secretary (retired) and Ms V. Anuradha Singh, renowned Kathak exponent was the Guest of Honour. The other guests present were Shri Hari Mohan Gupta, Founder, and Chairman, of Jagran Social Welfare Society, Chancellor, of Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, and Pro-Vice Chairman, of DPS Bhopal, Indore, Kolar Road and Rau Indore, Shri Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Vice Chairman, Executive Committee and Joint Secretary of JSWS, Shri Sanjeev Saxena President JSWS, Shri Nitin Ambaselkar, President (Finance and Accounts), other dignitaries, and parents.

Mrs. Vandana Dhupar, Principal DPS Kolar Road, Bhopal extended a warm welcome to all the luminaries and presented the School’s Annual Report, which highlighted the School Awards and outstanding accomplishments of the students in various academic and co-curricular events. Shri Gurudev Gupta Scholarship for all-rounders was conferred for the primary, middle, and secondary segment students. Class X 2nd City topper was also awarded a trophy and certificate of excellence for her outstanding academic performance in AISSE 2022. ‘Decennalia’ the video presentation showcased the school’s decade of excellence.

A soulful rendition by the school choir group commenced with the chanting of shlokas and ragas. It was a memorable presentation of mesmerizing melodies and rhythmic intricacies of different musical forms from different parts of the world. The school band’s ‘Cosmos Concerto’ transcended the barriers and united the hearts with a feeling that the entire Vasundhara is one family. The tiny tots from Castle of Dreams and students from classes I & II showcased “Embrace the Brave,” encouraging kids to become the heroes of their extraordinary stories. English play ‘Scripted for Success’ took the audience on an adventure ride to the Martian invasion. Another highlight of the cultural gala was the musical drama ‘The Journey of Righteousness-Bhakt Prahalad’. The students from classes III to XI and students from Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra depicted the trials and tribulations of Prahalad his saga of courage, devotion, and divine intervention with songs, dances, grandeur, and emotions.

The Chief Guest applauded DPS Kolar as a reputed school of Bhopal and the credit for leading it to such height of success goes to the relentless and dedicated efforts of management, the school Principal, and teachers. Guest of honour said that DPS Kolar is a school where students excel in all fields of learning and congratulated the school for carving a niche for itself. The Pro-Vice Chairman congratulated the students for their outstanding performance and urged them to aspire for excellence in their future endeavors. Parents and guests seemed glued to the complete programme glinting with pride in their eyes as they watched the spellbinding performances of the students. The event was a great success which was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the President of the student council Ms Pakhi Gupta followed by the National Anthem.

Annual Function - 2022

Delhi Public School, Kolar Road celebrated its fifth Annual Function, ‘PRATIBIMB, Imbibing Values of Life’ on Friday, 9th December 2022 amidst great splendor, zeal and resplendence.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Mukesh Tiwari, Indian Film Actor, the Guest of Honour was Shri RD Tailang, Indian Screenplay Writer. Dr. Abhijeet Deshmusk, Consultant General and Laproscopic Surgeon was the Special Guest. The other guests present were Shri Hari Mohan Gupta, Founder and Chairman, Jagran Social Welfare Society, Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, and Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Bhopal, Indore, Kolar Road and Rau Indore. Shri Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Vice Chairman, Executive Committee and Joint Secretary of JSWS, Shri Sanjeev Saxena President JSWS, Shri Nitin Ambaselkar, President (Finance and Accounts) and other dignitaries.

Class X & XII Board Exam toppers were awarded certificates of excellence and cash awards for their outstanding academic performance. An informal ‘Meet & Greet’ Session was organised by the DPS student council in which they interacted with the special guests and asked them questions related to their profession.

A soulful rendition by the school choir group commenced with the chanting of omkar and ragas. Students sang immortal melodies of honoured Lata Mangeskar, as a tribute to the prodigious soul. The school band offered a repertoire of tunes of musical maestros titled ‘Sur Sarang’, reflecting the music of the past and connecting it with the present. The welcome dance Suswagatam reflected the rich and imitable culture of India in the form of classical dances; Kathak and Bharatnatyam. The highlight of the function was the capsule ballet threaded by Sayaar the Sailor. He took the audience on the island of Moana- the brave heart. It was a mesmerizing performance by the tiny tots from Castle of Dreams, students from classes I & II and the budding stars from Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra. Another highlight of the cultural extravaganza was a musical drama ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji – the epitome of courage’. The students from classes III to XI and students from Somvati Devi Shiksha Kendra depicted the life of the great warrior with song, dance, grandeur and emotion.

The Chief Guest praised the show and called DPS Kolar as the trailblazer which has acquired many educational feats in this session and credited it to the relentless and dedicated efforts of management, principal and teachers of the school. The Pro-Vice Chairman congratulated the students for their outstanding performance and urged them to aspire for excellence in their future endeavors. The vote of thanks was proposed by the President of the Student Council. The celebration concluded on a blissful note encouraging students to mark further milestones in their journey of success.
