Welcome Assembly – Session 2025-26 (Classes 4-9) The Welcome Assembly for the new session 2025-26 commenced with the theme "Gear Up for Greatness!" Conducted by Class 9 students, the assembly showcased exceptional leadership and organisational skills. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp and special prayer by Madam Principal set a positive tone. Ms. Diksha Ahuja, a Computer Science faculty member from DPS Kolar Road, was selected for the ‘AFS Effect+ for the Classroom program. The AFS Global Up Educator online learning certification is a program developed by AFS Intercultural Programs New York, to equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to foster global competence in their students. There were 150 educators selected from 50 different countries for this cohort. This initiative aims to prepare teachers to effectively navigate and leverage diversity within their classrooms, thereby creating inclusive learning environments that reflect our interconnected world. The program focused on intercultural issues in education, exploring resources for teaching about sustainable development and global citizenship to students, and developing ideas to build bridges in multicultural classroom environments. The Global Up Educator program is structured as a six-week online blended learning experience encompassing Self-Paced Modules, Interactive Forums, Facilitated Dialogue Sessions, Assessments, and Reflections. Congratulations on receiving a certificate and a badge.
The orientation for the parents of the students of class 8 going to class 9 in the new session 2024-2025 was conducted successfully on 20th of March. It started with an address by Madam Vice Principal Ms Anuradha Telang initiating the pattern and then introducing the Class Coordinator of class 9th, Ms. Sujata Patranabis. Parents were introduced to the changes that students will experience in class 9. This includes the change in the subjects and evaluation pattern according to the CBSE guidelines. Details for registration to the CBSE board were informed. Parents participated enthusiastically in the orientation by being present on this day and were really happy with the information given to them. Madam Principal Ms. Vandana Dhupar also addressed the parents with her Pearls of wisdom.
Delhi Public School Kolar Road successfully organized a four-day Scout and Guide Camp, known as the Pravekshika Camp, in collaboration with M.P. Scout and Guide. The camp occurred from March 16th to March 19th, 2025, in the picturesque town of Pachmarhi. The event gave students an excellent opportunity to experience adventure, learn valuable scouting skills, and foster teamwork. Day 1: Arrival and Orientation The camp commenced in the afternoon with the arrival of participants and a formal check-in process. The day began with the flag hoisting ceremony, marking the official start of the camp. Following a delightful lunch, students explored the scenic surroundings of Pachmarhi, soaking in its natural beauty. An introductory session on the Pravekshika entry course was conducted, providing cadets with a comprehensive understanding of the camp’s objectives and expectations. The day concluded with a wholesome dinner and an overnight stay, ensuring participants were well-rested for the days ahead. Day 2: Learning and Competitions The second day commenced with a nutritious breakfast, setting the tone for an energetic day. Cadets were introduced to the significance of the President’s Award and guided on preparing for the entrance examination. They diligently studied the required materials and participated in a qualifying exam. After a replenishing lunch, the participants displayed their discipline and coordination in an intense Parade and Drill competition. The evening brought joy and camaraderie with a vibrant campfire session, where cadets engaged in storytelling, songs, and team-building activities. A hearty dinner followed before participants retired for the night. Day 3: Adventure and Cultural Evening The third day began with rejuvenating morning exercises and yoga, enhancing physical and mental well-being. After breakfast, cadets embarked on an exhilarating gypsy ride to explore the local attractions of Pachmarhi. The picturesque landscapes and historical sites left participants awestruck. Post lunch, the students enjoyed a brief period of rest at the resort. The evening was dedicated to an enthralling cultural event where cadets showcased their talents through individual and group performances. The highlight of the day was the announcement of the Praveshika results, acknowledging the cadets' hard work and determination. The night concluded with a cheerful campfire gathering and dinner. Day 4: Farewell and Conclusion The final day started with a refreshing morning exercise session followed by a parade practice. After breakfast, an open session was held, offering cadets the opportunity to share their reflections and experiences. The camp officially concluded with the lowering of the flag in a ceremonious flag-hoisting event. As the participants bid farewell, they carried with them cherished memories, newfound friendships, and a sense of accomplishment. The DPS Kolar Road Scout and Guide Camp successfully instilled values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience among all attendees. The Pravekshika Camp was a resounding success, providing students with a memorable and enriching experience. The collaboration with M.P. Scout and Guide played a pivotal role in ensuring the camp’s smooth execution. WELCOME ASSEMBLY – SESSION 2025-26 Believe in Yourself- Rise to the Challenge A new session in the school academic calendar is a new beginning with its own set of challenges, learnings and experiences. DPS Kolar rang in the new session with a welcome assembly conducted by students and teachers of class XII. Madam Principal, Mrs. Vandana Dhupar led the gathering in a special prayer and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. This was followed by the scripture, thought of the day and a theme talk that addressed the strength of belief in oneself to overcome challenges in life. A melodious musical presentation and a prayer dance added sparkle to the assembly. Teachers and madam principal addressed the students, welcomed them to the new school session and urged them to believe in their inner strength.
